Commercial

Don Jones Construction Company dba DJI Builders is classified as a Commercial Builder and Holds Commercial Building License in both Georgia and Alabama.

Our Company specializes in Commercial Construction for the Government sector to include the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Veterans Administration and Department of Defense Schools systems.

In the public sector we have constructed Banks and Bank additions, Schools and Commercial office Buildings. DJI self performs a great deal of our work especially in the area of concrete, masonry and structural steel, we also self perform other aspects of interior work with our own forces.

Military

During the past 9 Years we have been active mainly in Military construction primarily due to the logistics of our office in relation to Fort Benning and the BRAC construction push.

We are currently in our 5th year of an IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) Contract. We have completed approximately 50 delivery orders (contracts) under this term that totals over $60 million dollars in completed construction.

Design Build

Our IDIQ contract has a Design Build clause that mandates us to perform design build projects in certain instances. Due to the time restraints most of the work in the past 3 years has been design bid build type projects. We have worked with multiple design build firms including Rosser International, Poly Engineering, Leo Daly, Technicon and others to design and build the fast track projects required by our contract.

Renovation

We have had multiple Renovation projects under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers MILCON program, to include the renovation of Barracks, Historic Buildings and Bachelor Officers Quarters. One of our largest and most challenging renovation projects was the renovation of 260 individual rooms for Bachelor Officers Quarters in Building 399 Quartel Building. This project was completed 60 days early and we received a performance evaluation of Outstanding from the Government.

We also performed a design build for the WINSEC (School of Americas) that transformed living quarters constructed in the 1940’s into office space. All performed under the supervision of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Historic Preservation Department and a tight schedule of 9 Months to complete the work.

Demolition

During the course of our tenure at Fort Benning and other Military bases we have worked on, we have been required to demolish certain existing structures in order to construct new projects. This demolition often required the removal of hazardous materials prior to the actual demolition work. Our field staff is trained in the handling of hazardous materials and the procedures for disposal of such materials.

Security

Since 9/11/2001 we have constructed three security access control points to include barriers, barricades, administrative buildings and bullet proof guard houses. Two of these access control points were constructed at Ft. Benning at the Eisenhower interchange and one at the 15th Street access point to Fort Stewart, Georgia.

In the area of force protection and security we have completed 3 Arms Vaults and Armory’s  for storage of weapons and other secure items and all construction of New Buildings have been in strict compliance with the Fort Benning Force Protection regulations.
